Financial Analyst

We have an opportunity for entrepreneurial individuals looking to build from the ground up and learn every day. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Analyst will play an integral role within the Finance team in overseeing the full cycle accounting, reporting, budgeting, and tax preparation. The candidate will also support the Operations & Strategy team on ad-hoc operational tasks and ongoing transactions. Our company is geographically distributed, featuring the opportunity to collaborate with co-workers from across the world. This is a remote position (work from home) that can be based anywhere in the Central or Eastern Time Zone in Canada and the US.

What you'll do in this role:

Accounting and Finance

Manage communication with accounting, payroll, and tax-outsourced service providers (both fiat and crypto)
Take ownership of significant accounting processes (bank account tracking, expense management, revenue recognition, AR/AP, assets and liabilities reconciliation) as well as payroll processes
Produce consolidated financial statements and share results with investors
Build internal control and accounting policies to prepare for fundraising efforts

Operations

Execute and track foreign exchange and crypto transactions
Lead communication with current and prospective vendors

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
2-3 years of full-cycle accounting experience
Intermediate skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
Relentless resourcefulness: you don’t know all the answers but you will figure it out (first, through your own independent research and analysis and second, through involving the relevant teammates)
End-to-end ownership: you do not wait for others to act and are accountable to the outcome of your actions. An ownership mindset is the backbone of trust in a high-performing remote environment such as Conduit’s
Consistent attention to details: you ensure that the information you share and receive is complete and accurate. You follow up with others (on your own work or that of others) to ensure that commitments have been fulfilled
Autonomy: you demonstrate an ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in an entrepreneurial work environment. You have the problem-solving skills required to identify shortfalls by yourself and the creativity required to fix them.

Other considerations‍

An interest in crypto and/or fintech
Experience in a high-growth startup environment
Exposure or some experience with auditing and/or taxes
Familiarity with payroll systems (Deel, Sequoia One, WagePoint)
